Shannon’s approach to therapy is compassionate and direct. Her personal and professional experiences have given her unique insights into the complexity of how physical and psychological health impacts individuals and families. Shannon values the uniqueness of every relationship, and the strengths and challenges that each individual brings to their life. Shannon enjoys working with couples and families; individuals of any age with health or developmental challenges; women, gender expansive clients, and men with sexological health issues; families adjusting to pregnancy or newborn life; and survivors of trauma, or relational strife. Shannon uses an eclectic approach that includes Non-Violent Communication strategies and Intersystem Assessment, with Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Relational-Cultural Therapy models to work with a diverse range of client families, cultures, issues, and experiences.
Shannon helps clients prioritize their challenges and goals. She honors client values and works with their resources to see problems practically, but compassionately. Shannon helps clients improve communications so they can exercise clear boundaries and ask for help when they need it. She centers clients’ goals, while being curious about the facets of life that need extra attention like health and support systems.
