Matthew Wilkinson, MA, LPC, NCC

Maryville Office

Matt brings a unique, holistic approach to his therapy practice. With a background in the comparative study of religion, prior to earning his degree in professional counseling, he studied a variety of belief systems and traditions. He is respectful of his clients’ cultures and values and seeks to work within his clients’ individual frames of reference.

Matt uses a combination of therapeutic treatments including Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. He specializes in treating college students, but also sees adults. His focus is on boundaries, self-compassion, trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.

Matt takes the “fellow traveler” approach by working in partnership with his clients.  He engages clients with compassion and guides them in self reflection.  Matt endeavors to provide a space without demands in which clients are empowered to create meaning and discover solutions.
