Ken uses Client Centered Therapy along with Solution Focused Therapy to assist clients in clarifying their own goals in therapy. He works with clients to determine their current strengths and past successes to determine what changes they can make to improve their current situation. He believes in the client’s ability to solve their own problems and direct their lives in a way that is meaningful to them.

He initially started his career as a high school math teacher and was a staff member and co-director of the Illinois Teen Institute. He eventually migrated to the mental health field. He earned a PhD in Counseling and Family Therapy from St. Louis University. He worked for 16 years in a hospital setting at Edgewood Chemical Dependency Treatment Center and Belleville Memorial Hospital Inpatient Behavioral Medicine Program and the outpatient Mental Health Program. He is a therapist, clinical supervisor, and educator. He serves on the Memorial Hospital Critical Incident Stress team to assist first responders after particularly difficult calls. He served as the Department Chair and professor of the graduate Counseling Program at Lindenwood University – Belleville (LUB). He was also Clinical Director of the Student Counseling and Resource Center at LUB.
