Jaclyn Pickowitz, MS, LPC
Jaclyn is a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Counseling program at Eastern Illinois University. Prior to joining the team at Counselors Associates Ltd., she served as a substitute school social worker in both the elementary and high school levels, where she was able to gain rich experience with children, adolescents and the adults who care for them.
Jaclyn uses a myriad of approaches when it comes to counseling, as she recognizes that achieving personal and emotional growth is not a “one size fits all” process. Jaclyn believes that every person is the expert on his or her own life, and she is passionate about taking a backseat to learn about her clients and their needs. She strives to create a genuine relationship with each client, a place of solace and retreat, where clients can find unconditional support, trust, empowerment and solidarity.
Jaclyn’s inclination toward Client-Centered Therapy allows her clients to navigate their own growth and path to fulfillment. She views herself as simply the catalyst for change, opening the door to self-exploration, hope and transformation for her clients. In her work, she also uses other techniques as necessary such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to zone in on negative thought patterns, Reality Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients reach a specific goal while focusing on their unique strengths and potential.
