Heather Merkle (She/her), MA, LCPC, NCC

Troy North and South Clinical Director

Troy North Office

Heather enjoys assisting clients in recognizing their strengths and promoting positive growth. She uses a client-centered approach but also uses a combination of solution-focused, behavior modification and motivational interviewing. With more than 16 years of experience in private practice, in-home counseling and school-based services, she has primarily worked with adolescents and young adults, but also has experience with adults and group settings. Heather works with families to assist with family stabilization and manage children’s mental health and behavioral struggles.

Heather believes that all clients have the strength to address any difficulty that they may experience but recognizes that some clients need a non-judgmental and empathetic person to assist them in identifying their strengths. She provides a trusting environment, where clients can feel safe in exploring their feelings. She listens and helps to establish attainable goals and believes that with a supportive relationship, all clients can improve their daily lives.
